Issue Description
How to configure baseboard management controller (BMC) network information?
Solution
Scenarios

Configure BMC network information. The configuration includes the mode for obtaining the BMC IP address and setting the BMC IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.

Impact on the System

This operation has no adverse impact on the system.

Prerequisites:

Conditions

You have entered the basic input/output system (BIOS). For details, see Entering the BIOS.

Data

The following data is available:
BMC IP address
BMC subnet mask
BMC gateway

Procedure:

1.  Select Advanced > IPMI BMC Configuration and press Enter.

The IPMI BMC Configuration screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.

2.  Select BMC Configuration and press Enter.

The BMC Configuration screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 2.

3.  (Skip this step for blade servers because the Port Mode parameter is unavailable for this server.) Select Port Mode and press Enter.

A dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 3.

4.  (Skip this step for blade servers because the Port Mode parameter is unavailable for this server.) Select Dedicated, Shared_Onboard, Adaptive, or Shared_Pcie, and press Enter.

You can set the management network port or a service network port as the BMC network port, which is used for communicating with the BMC. Port Mode has three options:

Dedicated: If you select this option, the BMC management network port parameters are displayed.
Shared_Onboard: If you select this option, the BMC service network port (service network port on an LOM) parameters are displayed.
Adaptive: You can use either the management network port or the service network port to log in to the BMC, depending on the network port to which the network cable is connected.
Shared_Pcie: If you select this option, the BMC service network port (service network port on a PCIe card) parameters are displayed.

NOTE:
You can select Dedicated to set BMC IP address parameters for the management network port and select Shared to set BMC IP address parameters for the service network port. After the settings, you can use either the management network port or the service network port to log in to the BMC.

5.  Select IPv4 IP Source and press Enter.

The screen shown in Figure 4 is displayed.

6.  Select a mode for obtaining the BMC IPv4 address:

Static: Go to 7.
DHCP: Go to 14.

NOTE:
The default mode for obtaining the BMC IPv4 IP address is Static.

7.  Select Static and press Enter.

8.  Select IPv4 IP Source and press Enter.

The Set IPv4 IP Address dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 5.
