Issue Description
How Can a PC Log In to an AP Using Telnet Through a Network Cable When No Serial Cable Is Available?
Solution
1, Connect the PC directly to the Eth/PoE port on the AP through a common network cable.

2, Configure a static IP address that is on the same network segment as the AP's IP address for the PC. Ping the AP's IP address from the PC. If the ping operation succeeds, the connection is set up successfully. If the ping operation fails, check whether the network cable is faulty.

    NOTE:

Ensure that the IP address 192.168.0.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 have been configured on VLANIF 1 of the AP in V200R002C00 or earlier versions before the delivery, and GE0/0/1 on the AP has been added to VLAN 1 by default.

Ensure that the IP address 169.254.1.1 and subnet mask 255.255.0.0 have been configured on VLANIF 1 of the AP in V200R003C00 or later versions before the delivery, and GE0/0/1 on the AP has been added to VLAN 1 by default.

In FIT AP mode, if the AP is already online on the AC, the DHCP server automatically allocates an IP address to the AP. Log in to the AC from the PC and run the display ap-run-info id ap-id command on the AC to view the AP's IP address.

3, Access the Command Prompt window on the PC. For example, if the PC runs Windows XP, choose Start > Run and enter cmd in the displayed window.

4, Telnet to the AP's IP address to log in to the AP.

5, Enter the default user name admin and initial password admin in V200R002C00 and earlier versions or admin@huawei.com in V200R003C00 and later versions. When the user interface is displayed, login is successful.

NOTE:
The initial password of the AC BootROM menu is huawei in V200R002C00 and earlier versions and admin@huawei.com in V200R003C00 and later versions.
