If services are being processed in a storage system, note the following before you add a disk enclosure:
The new disk enclosure must have the same model with the existing ones.
After hard disks are inserted and power supplies are connected to the disk enclosure, the disk enclosure is automatically powered on.
After the disk enclosure power-on, connect the disk enclosure with its controller enclosure through expansion cables. The storage system then can automatically detect the new disk enclosure.
When you add new disk enclosures to a storage system, you do not need to stop the ongoing services. Note that adding disk enclosures may fluctuate the SAS loop or FC loop; therefore, this operation may affect the services. You are advised to expand the system capacity when service load is light and suspend the services before expansion, protecting the customer service and data security.
