Could not create DataDisk for N8500 V200R001

Issue Description

 

Problem Description : Our Customer is not able to create a new DATA DISK in ISM .

When he tried to do that from ISM he received a FAILED message like in below picture.

The received message is, "Some node of current Cluster is not connected to the storage unit" .

The sytem is a NAS -   N8500: V200R001C00SPC104  with Oceanstor S5500T V100R005C00;


 

Solution

 

 Current version: N8500: V200R001C00SPC104   with storage  S5500T: V100R005C00

In order to fix this issue we recommend to upgrade the NAS  device to : N8500: V200R002C00SPC100  and the S5500T storage version  should be : V100R005C30SPC300.

 

Note that:

We only supported offline upgrade, so the service will stop when we upgrade the equipments, the  service stop time will be about  6-8 hours at least . Take in consideration 10 hours as downtime .


 

Final Solution :

For this option - “create data disk ” – the button is an old interface for an old version n8500 ( for all the newest version we don’t have this option, this button has been removed from ISM), and a compatibility issue occurs when you tried to use it in old version,  like a solution (without firmware upgrade )  we can create a lun ( and mapping ) in a  normal  way “Storage resource””luns”-create a lun.
