PPPoE Users cannot Dial Due to a Great Deal of Static Users

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  125 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Theoretically the MA5200F R007 can access 1K users. However, on a site it cannot dial when the number of the actual on-line numbers reaches 813. There will be the prompt as: Fail to new connection for license or other access limit.
Alarm Information
When PPPoE users dial, there will be the prompt as: Fail to new connection for license or other access limit.
Handling Process
Delete the unused static user data as required to prevent them to occupy too many entries.
Root Cause
Check the data configuration of users, and 231 static users have been configured. As static users configured in the MA5200 R007 version will occupy the user entry even if they are off-line, the number of users connected to the MA5200 should include all the on-line users that can be viewed with the display access-user command and the configured static users that are off-line. The following is the information on an office site: DomainName State CAR Access-limit Online ------------------------------------------------------------- adsl Active 2 1024 609 pppoe Active 0 1024 184 nms Active 0 1024 15 nms2 Active 0 1024 4 nms3 Active 0 1024 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------- As 231 static users have been configured, the theoretical value of other users that can be accessed is 1024-231=793, while the actual number of on-line users is: 609 + 184 + 15 + 4 + 1 = 813. Among them, the number of static users is 15 + 4 + 1 = 20. The number of other accessed users is 813 ?20 = 793, which is just equivalent with the theoretical value. Therefore, the reason for the problem is that 231 static users have been configured. Although some static users are off-line, they still occupy the entry table.
