Q: How to configure the parameter for idle-cut of MA5200 to avoid abnormal drop-offline?
First present the principle of idle-cut of MA5200. At present, the idle-cut of MA5200 is one minute, but MA5200 does not conduct idle-cut according to time. Once a user comes online, MA5200 allocates one value of X according to the setting for idle-cut configured previously; the principle for the allocation is: if the idle-cut time configured for the user is one minute, X=1; if it is two minute, X=2, and so on. At the same time, MA5200 configures one global timer which reduces one from the value of X for a user every minute. If X=0, it indicates that it is the time for idle-cut, at which point it will judge the traffic of the user during the time duration; if the traffic is less than the value set ahead, the user will be cut; if it is more than the value, the X will be initialized to the original value again, keeping the user online.
Here comes a question: if the idle-cut time is set too little, suppose one minute, the X will be initialized to be one when the user comes online, but if the time of system is to reach one minute after seconds, one will be reduced from the X value of the user, at which point, X=0. The system ascertains that it is the time for idle-cut; at the same time, the user comes online just now, with little traffic, so it will be cut soon.
When configuring the idle-cut time, do not set it too little, or the user will be cut by mistake. For example, if it is one minute, the user will be cut at an arbitrary time within the range of 1-60 seconds; if it is two minutes, the user may be cut offline at the time from No. 61-120 second after being online.
For the specific configuration, it depends, but the idle-cut time should not be less than twenty minutes.
