Q: Which versions of MA5200 series support port mirroring?
A:Only MA5200G supports port mirroring, both MA5200 (frame-type) and MA5200E/F do not.
The command to configure MA5200G with port mirroring is as follows:
1. Specify the observing interface of PC
[MA5200G]observing-port Ethernet 2/0/0
2. Specify the port for mirroring
[MA5200G]port-mirroring Ethernet3/0/0 ingress Ethernet2/0/0
//The command could specify one direction of packets for observing, or both; both directions could be mirrored to the same observing port.
3. MA5200G supports that the traffic from multiple ports is mirrored to one port, but each LPU could only have one mirrored port. For instance, mirror the traffic of 1/0/0 and 2/0/0 to 3/0/0:
[MA5200G]observing-port GigabitEthernet 3/0/0
[MA5200G]port-mirroring GigabitEthernet 1/0/0 both GigabitEthernet 3/0/0 GigabitEthernet 3/0/0
[MA5200G]port-mirroring GigabitEthernet 2/0/0 both GigabitEthernet 3/0/0 GigabitEthernet 3/0/0
Note: Observing port for for mirroring must be Ethernet port which is not on MPU. Only the non-configured port could be the candidate for observing port of mirroring. For example, the interface or BAS that has been configured with sub-interface cannot be set to observing port; otherwise, the traffic of other services on the interface will influence the observing. It should be noted that one interface board could only have one port set to be mirrored at most. Once the mirrored port is disabled, the observing port is still valid.
