When we want to use N2000 to monitor the user with some operation on the NE40E through telnet method, there's nothing displayed in the N2000->System->Syslog Management.
1. Check the connectivity of End-to-End:
Ping from N2000 to NE40E, and from NE40E to N2000. Both ok
2. Check the Syslog service status:
Enter the NE Management, in the service tree, expand NE Channel Management, and then click Syslog Service. The Syslog function is enabled, and the displayed status button is Disable.
3. Check the configuration:
From the N2000, we can see Syslog source interface is Loopback1.
From NE40E command line, we found loopback1 is a VPN interface.
But the info-center loghost configuration, we didnt designate its a VPN interface: info-center loghost 10.0.74.66 channel 7 facility local0.
Thats might be the problem, so we try to modify the info-center loghost configuration: info-center loghost 10.0.74.66 vpn management.
After that, we were able to monitor all operation logs by telnet users.
Because this is one of the basic functions of N2000, so software bug and license problems were excluded at the beginning.
1. Syslog service didnt started
2. TCP/IP unreachable
3. Configuration mistake
