Product and version information:
The host and the storage array were properly connected through a direct connection or SAN network. Log in to the storage array management system. Create a LUN and map it to the host. Log in to the host and scan for the mapped LUN. Check the LUN status, quantity, and capacity information. On the storage array management system, expand the LUN. On the host, scan for the mapped LUN. The displayed capacity is different from the actual value even after the host is restarted.
Solaris10U9 For X86 considers capacity information to be unchanged once the disk is created; therefore, LUN expansion cannot function properly on Solaris10U9 For X86.
When tagging an untagged disk for the first time, Solaris10U9 For X86 stores its capacity information in its disk tag, and then writes the capacity information to the first sector. Solaris10U9 For X86 considers the disk capacity to be unchanged once the disk is created.
