User configured PPPoE in USG, but failed to dial. And the status of dialer port switches up to down in circles. Username and password are correct, and succeed to dial on PC.
1. Logged on USG to checked PPPoE configuration, and found no wrong.
2. Contacted user, and knew that client succeed to dial by using the dial software from carrier. Without the software, it failed to build a PPPoE in Windows and dial.
3. Found out the reason was the restriction from user’s carrier (China Unicom in Henan province). The carrier encrypted username, so user failed to dial by using an original username.
4. Found a username encryption software for Henan Unicom. And use the encrypted username to dial. The problem is solved.
PPPoE configuration is wrong.
Some carrier may do some restriction about PPPoE. It isn’t the devices’ problem. If configuration is right, please contact the carrier.
