Q: How does MA5200G free some destination addresses from accounting and traffic statistics?
MA5200G at versions later than V200R003 (included) has the functionality, and it is mainly used in campus network, without accounting for access to internal resources but with accounting for that to external.
For example: MA5200G enables ACL for IP addresses within the campus network; in relevant traffic policy, execute traffic-statistics, executing the functionality.
By default, MA5200G counts the traffic of all users. If it needs to count and account the value-added traffic alone, it needs to enable traffic-statistics (it is disabled by default). At the point, MA5200G counts all the traffic matching the ACL, realizing non-accounting for access to campus network. If it needs to accounting for the value-added traffic with different standards, it needs ot use summary parameter.
