Issue Description
The file sharing service is enabled on the virtual gateway and the shared file resource is specified. When a user logs in to the virtual gateway and accesses the specified shared file resource, the prompt "Access failed. Cannot connect to the server, please contact the administrator." is displayed.
Alarm Information
None.
Handling Process
  • Cause one: The corresponding file server of the shared file resource does not exist, or there is no reachable route between the file server and the SVN3000.

    1. Log in to the Web-based NMS, and then click System Maintenance in the System Management navigation tree. Click the Remote Test tab. The configuration page is displayed.
    2. Select Ping from the Network test drop-down list.
    3. Enter the IP address of the file server in IP address/Host name.
       NOTE:
If you enter the host name for testing, you need to enter the name of the virtual gateway in Virtual gateway name of Advanced Parameter Options. Otherwise, the host name cannot be correctly resolved.
    4. Click Ping to check the network connection.
If the file server cannot be pinged through, it indicates that there is no reachable route between the SVN3000 and the file server. In this case, check the network connection and add a route.

  • Cause two: The host name of the shared file resource is in the domain name format, but the virtual gateway is not configured with an DNS server or the configuration of the DNS server is incorrect.

    1. Log in to the Web-based NMS, and then click  in the Virtual Gateway List navigation tree to unfold the navigation node. Click Network Configuration.
    2. Click the corresponding  of Preferred DNS server. The corresponding Server Address becomes editable.
    3. Enter the IP address of the DNS server in the Server Address text box.
    4. Click  to validate the configuration.
After the configuration is complete, choose System Management > System Maintenance > Remote Test. Run the ping command to check whether there is a reachable route between the DNS server and the SVN3000. You need to make sure that there is a reachable route and the host name (domain name) resolved by the DNS server is correct.
