Issue Description
On a deployment site, an alarm is generated on a BBU of the Oceanspace S2600. The customer applies for controller spare parts; however, the arrived spare parts have no BBU. The BBU needs to be separately applied for.
Alarm Information
Handling Process

Apply for the BBU spare part (BOM code: 2402G000). After the BBU arrives, remove the corresponding controller. Open the controller upper cover. Disconnect the two flat power cables that connect the BBU to the controller circuit panel. Take out the faulty BBU. Install the BBU spare part to the correct location. Connect the two flat power cables. Close the controller upper cover. Insert the controller into the controller enclosure. After the controller runs normally, log in to the S2600 on the ISM to check the system operating status. Manually clear the alarms on the BBU. The system stores. The replacement procedure completes.

Root Cause

The customer regards the BBU as a part of the controller; however, the BBU of the S2600 is an independent spare part. If an alarm is generated on the BBU, it must be separately applied for.

1. The BOM code of the S2600 controller is 0305G015, which refers to the controller without any port modules. When you apply for a spare part, do not use this BOM code but the one combining the information about memory capacity and port module type (four iSCSI ports, four FC ports, or iSCSI ports and two FC ports).

2. Method for replacing a controller of an early version is as follows:
The current delivered S2600 controller spare parts contain an SSD port module. If the controller enclosure deployed on site does not have the SSD port module but have dual controllers, apply for two controller modules to replace both of the deployed dual controllers.
3. Method for replacing a disk spare part is as follows:
The 500 GB (0231G327) and 750 GB (0231G328) SATA disks are out of production. If these disks are faulty, replace them with 1 TB SATA disks (0231G329).
The 73 GB (0231G325) and 146 GB (0231G331) SAS disks are out of production. If these disks are faulty, replace them with 300 GB SAS disks (0231G330).
4. A BBU is an independent spare part.
If only a BBU alarm is generated, apply for the BBU spare part. After the spare part arrives, open the controller upper cover, and replace the BBU.
