Publication Date:  2015-06-27 Views:  151 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Applicable Models:
The fault occurs on:
 eSpace IPC2601-P
 eSpace IPC5601-P
 eSpace IPC2701-P
 eSpace IPC5701-P

Symptom:

After an IPC is upgraded online, the IPC cannot be powered on. The power indicator is displayed as orange. The network port cannot be pinged. No IP address can be obtained.
Handling Process
Step 1 Use SSH to log in to the IPC as the admin user.
  • If the login is successful, go to Step 2.
  • If the login fails, contact your service provider for assistance.
Step 2 Switch to the root user and run the nandwrite -S 0 command to exit the PBA mode.

NOTE:
 After the IPC exits the PBA mode, the IPC software restores to the source version when being powered on.
 The preceding IPCs of the Smart IPC V100R001C10 version may encounter this error. Ensure that the network is smooth during the upgrade.
 For details about the default passwords of the admin and root users, see the <<User Guide >> corresponding to the faulty device.

Step 3 Check whether the fault is rectified.
  • If yes, no further operation is required.
  • If no, contact your service provider for assistance.
----End
Root Cause
The upgrade times out because the network is congested during the IPC upgrade. The IPC enters the Persistent BIOS App (PBA) for safe recovery mode and cannot exit.
