Failure to Call an IMS User Through the VU Switchboard

Publication Date:  2015-07-14 Views:  159 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
User A calls the virtual user (VU) switchboard. As prompted, user A calls an extension number (user B). User B has enabled the call forwarding unconditional (CFU) service in which all the incoming calls to user B are forward to IMS user C. However, the call between user A and user C cannot be set up.
Handling Process
Step 1 Test the calling process.

Ask an intra-office user to call IMS user C. If the call between the intra-office user and user C cannot be set up, check the basic data configurations.

Step 2 Run the show softargu configinfor id 269 command to view the value of software parameter 269.

An IMS call can be set up only when the calling number received by the IMS is bound to an IMS registration group.
  • If software parameter 269 is set to 1, the calling number is the long number associated with user B.
  • If software parameter 269 is set to 0 or the default value, the calling number is that received by user B.

Step 3 Run the show prefix dn command to check whether a calling number changing rule is configured for the VU prefix. An IMS call can be set up only when the calling number received by user B is bound to an IMS registration group.
  • If no calling number changing rule is configured, the calling number received by user B is the number of user A.
  • If a calling number changing rule is configured, the calling number received by user B is the number after change.
Step 4 If the fault persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers.

Root Cause
The possible causes are as follows:
  1. Basic data configurations, such as IMS connection parameters, registration group, and SIP trunk, are incorrect.
  2. The VU is not associated with a registration group.
