Issue Description
What can I do if the IDs of a controller enclosure and disk enclosures are incorrect after an initial storage system startup?

Solution
Perform either of the following two methods to change the IDs of the controller enclosure and disk enclosures:
  • On the ISM
For the S5000 series V100R001

1.   In the navigation tree, select Physical View.

2.  Select the device of which the enclosure IDs are to be changed.

3.  Select the controller enclosure or disk enclosure of which the ID is to be changed.

Go to the Modify Enclosure ID dialog box as follows:
  • On the menu bar, choose Configuration > Modify Enclosure ID.
  • Click the right mouse button, and choose Modify Enclosure ID.
4.  Change the enclosure ID.

NOTE:
    An enclosure ID must be an integer ranging from 0 to 99.
    An enclosure ID must be unique.

For the S2600 V100R005C02, S5000 series V100R005CO2, S5500T, S5600T, S5800T, S6800T, S3900, S5900, and S6900

1.  In the navigation tree, select Device Info.

2.  Click Enclosure.

3.  In the function pane, select the controller enclosure or disk enclosure of which the enclosure ID is to be changed. Click Modify Enclosure ID.

4.  Change the enclosure ID.

NOTE:
    An enclosure ID must be an integer ranging from 0 to 99.
    An enclosure ID must be unique.
  • On the CLI
For the S5000 series V100R001, S2600 V100R005C02, S5000 series V100R005CO2

Run the chgsubrackid -ssubrackID-nsnewsubrackID command to change the enclosure ID.

For the S5500T, S5600T, S5800T and S6800TS3900, S5900, and S6900

Run the chgenclosureid -e enclosure id -ne new enclosure id command to change the enclosure ID.
