Deleting a hot spare drive

Deleting a hot spare drive


If the number of existing hard drives in the current environment is insufficient, you can delete an existing hot spare drive so that it restores to a common hard drive.




Data preparation is not required for this operation.


Enter the hot spare drive management screen.

  1. On the displayed screen, select Array Configuration and press Enter.

    The Array Configuration screen is displayed.

  2. Select Manage Array LD.

    The RAID array list is displayed.

  3. Select the array to be operated and press Enter. The array operation list is displayed.

  4. Select Manage Spare and press Enter.

    The hot spare drive operation list is displayed.

    Delete a hot spare drive.

  5. On the screen shown in Figure 11-76, select Delete Spare and press Enter.

    The hot spare drive list is displayed.

  6. Select the hot spare drive to be deleted and press Enter.

    A message is displayed, indicating that the hot spare drive is successfully deleted.

  7. Repeat the preceding operations to delete more hot spare drives.

    Exit the Configuration Utility.

  8. Press Esc to return to the Boot Manager screen.
