Configuring RAID Controller Card Properties

Scenarios

View and modify RAID controller card properties as required.

Procedure

  1. Access the Configuration Utility main screen. For details, see Logging In to the Configuration Utility.
  2. On the Configuration Utility main screen, choose Objects > Adapter > Adapter-0 and press Enter.

    The RAID controller card property screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 9-48.

  3. Set the RAID controller card properties.

    Use and to select a property and press Enter to set the value. Table 9-10 describes the properties.

    Parameter

    Description

    Rebuild Rate

    Indicates the input/output (I/O) rate during data synchronization. The default value is 30%.

    Chk Const Rate

    Indicates the I/O rate during consistency checks. The default value is 30%.

    FGI Rate

    Indicates the I/O rate during foreground initialization. The default value is 30%.

    BGI Rate

    Indicates the I/O rate during background initialization. The default value is 30%.

    Disk WC

    Indicates whether drive write cache (DWC) is enabled for member drives during RAID array creation. Drive write caching is disabled by default.

    Read Ahead

    Indicates whether the read ahead (RA) mode is enabled during RAID array creation. The RA mode is enabled by default.

    Bios State

    Indicates whether the BIOS supports the Option ROM. The Option ROM is supported by default.

    Cont On Error

    Indicates whether the Option ROM proceeds with the subsequent operations after a fault occurs during the power-on self test (POST). The Option ROM proceeds by default.

    Fast Init

    Indicates whether to enable the fast initialization mode. The fast initialization mode is enabled by default. If you change the value to Disable, the slow initialization mode is enabled.

    Auto Rebuild

    Indicates whether to synchronize data automatically when a RAID array needs data synchronization and an appropriate hard drive is available. This mode is enabled by default.

    Auto Resume

    Indicates whether processes, such as initialization and rebuilding, are resumable after being interrupted. The processes are resumable by default.

    Disk Coercion

    Indicates the capacity compression mode. In this mode, the capacities of RAID member drives are set to be the same when hard drives of different models and capacities are used together.

    The default mode is 1 GB. Before configuring this mode, you need to delete all existing RAID configurations.

    Factory Default

    Restores the controller card parameters to default settings. Before performing this operation, you need to delete all existing RAID configurations.

  4. Press Esc to exit the controller card property screen.
  5. Press Esc to exit the controller card selection screen.
  6. Press Esc to exit the Configuration Utility main screen.
  7. Restart the server.
