Enabling the Encryption Function

  1. On the VD Mgmt tab, choose SAS3108 (Bus 0x01, Dev 0x00) and press F2.

    The screen shown in Figure 8-78 is displayed.

  2. Select Drive Security and press Enter. In the dialog box displayed, select Enable Security and press Enter, as shown in Figure 8-79.

  3. In Identifier, enter the password name.
  4. In Security Key, enter the password.
  5. In Confirm, enter the password again for confirmation.

    • The passwords entered in 4 and 5 must be the same.
    • To display the passwords entered, set Show Key to [X].

  6. Select OK and press Enter.

    Information shown in Figure 8-81 is displayed.

  7. Select YES and press Enter.

Disabling the Encryption Function

  1. On the VD Mgmt tab, select SAS3108 (Bus 0x01,Dev 0x00) and press F2.
  2. Select Drive Security and press Enter. In the dialog box displayed, select Disable security and press Enter, as shown in Figure 8-82.

  3. Select YES and press Enter.

Changing the Password

  1. On the VD Mgmt tab, select SAS3108 (Bus 0x01, Dev 0x00) and press F2.
  2. Select Drive Security and press Enter. In the dialog box displayed, select Change security settings and press Enter, as shown in Figure 8-84.

    The screen shown in Figure 8-85 is displayed.

  3. In Identifier, enter the new password name, for example, key2.
  4. Press the Enter key to set Use the Existing Security Key to [ ].

    [ ] indicates that this option is disabled.

  5. In Security Key, enter the new password.
  6. In Confirm, enter the password again for confirmation.

    • The passwords entered in 5 and 6 must be the same.
    • To display the passwords entered, set Show Key to [X].

  7. Press the Enter key to set Pause For Password to [X].

    [X] indicates that this option is enabled.

  8. In Password, enter the RAID controller card password.
  9. In Confirm, enter the password for confirmation.
  10. Select OK and press Enter.

    The dialog box shown in Figure 8-86 is displayed.

  11. Enter the original password, select OK, and press Enter.

  12. Select YES and press Enter.

Encrypting a JBOD Disk

  1. On the PD Mgmt tab, select the JBOD disk to be encrypted and press F2.

    The screen shown in Figure 8-88 is displayed.

  2. Select Enable Security On JBOD and press Enter.

    Information shown in Figure 8-89 is displayed.

  3. Select Yes and press Enter.

Encrypting a RAID Array

  1. On the VD Mgmt tab, select the RAID array to be encrypted and press F2, as shown in Figure 8-90.

  2. Select Secure Drive Group and press Enter.

  3. Select YES and press Enter.
