Hard Drive Indicators

Each hard drive has two indicators.

Hard drive fault indicator


  • Off: The hard drive is operating properly.
  • Blinking yellow: The hard drive is located, or RAID is being rebuilt.
  • Steady yellow: The hard drive is faulty, or a member drive in the RAID array is faulty.

    If a hard drive in JBOD mode is faulty, the Fault indicator on the drive will not be lit and the BMC will not generate an alarm.

Hard drive activity indicator


  • Off: The hard drive is faulty or cannot be detected.
  • Blinking green: Data is being read from or written to the hard drive, or synchronized between hard drives.
  • Steady green: The hard drive is inactive.
