Setting the Boot Device


If a hard drive is also configured as the boot device, the hard drive will be preferentially used as the boot device.




Data preparation is not required for this operation.


Set the boot device.

  1. On the Configuration Utility main screen, select Logical Device Configuration and press Enter.

    Main Menu is displayed, as shown in Figure 11-26.

  2. Select Manage Arrays and press Enter.

    The array list is displayed.

  3. Select the array whose LD will be configured as the boot device and press Enter.

    The LD list of the array is displayed.

  4. Select the LD to be configured as the boot device and press Ctrl+B to adjust the LD location.

    As shown in the LD list, the LD has been adjusted to the first line.

When the array is in the rebuilding or initializing state, the LD location cannot be adjusted.

Exit the Configuration Utility.

Press Esc to exit the Configuration Utility and restart the server.
