Deleting a hot spare drive


If the number of existing hard drives in the current environment is insufficient, you can delete an existing hot spare drive so that it restores to a common hard drive.


  1. Access the Configuration Utility main screen. For details, see Logging In to the Configuration Utility.
  2. On the screen shown in Figure 11-3, select Logical Device Configuration and press Enter.

    The Logical Device Configuration screen is displayed.

  3. Select Manage Arrays and press Enter.

    The array list is displayed.

  4. Select the array to be operated and press Delete.

    The hot spare drive list is displayed.

  5. In the Select Hotspare drives area, select the target hot spare drive and press the space or Insert key.

    The selected hot spare drive is displayed in the Selected Drives area.

  6. Press Enter.

    A confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  7. Enter Y and press Enter.

    Figure 11-61 is displayed.
