Drives Menu

This menu allows you to view physical drive properties and perform operations, such as configuring a hot spare drive.

Screen Introduction

Figure 4-236 shows the Drives screen.

In the Drives pane, the hard drives are displayed in the Slot:Hard drive slot number,Hard drive type,Capacity size,Hard drive status format.

A hard drive can be in any of the following states:

  • Online: The hard drive has already been added to a RAID array.
  • Dedicated Hot Spare: The hard drive is a dedicated hot spare drive.
  • Global Hot Spare: The hard drive is a global hot spare drive.
  • Unconfigured Good: The hard drive is an idle hard drive. It is neither a RAID member drive nor a hot spare drive.

Rebuilding RAID Data

In the Drives pane, select a target hard drive.

Select Rebuild and click Go.

Viewing Hard Drive Properties

In the Drives pane, select a target hard drive.

Select Properties and click Go.

The screen displayed varies depending on the hard drive status. For details, see Table 4-68.
