Figure 5-86 shows the Controller Management screen. Table 5-30 describes the operations on this screen.

Save Controller Events

Saves the controller card logs.

View Controller Properties

This screen allows you to view RAID properties.

Screen Description

Figure 5-87 shows the View Controller Properties screen. Table 5-31 describes the parameters on the screen.

Number of virtual drives mounted to the controller card

Firmware type of the controller card

Default NVData Version

Version of default NVData

Persistent NVData Version

Version of persistent NVData

Change Controller Properties

This screen allows you to set the resource usage of RAID rebuild if the OS has insufficient processing capability.

Screen Description

Figure 5-88 shows the Change Controller Properties screen.

Changing the Rebuild Rate

  1. Press Enter to view the rate list.
  2. Use ↑ and ↓ to select a rate and press Enter.
  3. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Apply Changes and press Enter.

    The message "changes were applied" is displayed.

Create Configuration

This screen allows you to create a RAID array.

Screen Description

Figure 5-89 shows the Create Configuration screen.

Creating a RAID Array

Select a RAID level.

  1. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Select RAID Level and press Enter.

    The list of configurable RAID levels are displayed, as shown in Figure 5-90.

  2. Select a RAID level and press Enter.

    Select member drives.

  3. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Select Physical Disks and press Enter.

    The hard drive selection screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-91. Table 5-32 describes the parameters on the screen.

    Selected RAID Level

    Indicates the selected RAID level.

    Select Interface Type

    Selects an interface type. If the controller card controls hard drives of different interface types, you can use this parameter to filter the hard drives.

    Select Media Type

    Selects a hard drive type. If the controller card controls hard drives of different capacities, you can use this parameter to filter the hard drives.

    0:2:9 SAS HDD-512b 465 GB

    Indicates the selectable hard drives.

    Check All

    Selects all listed hard drives.

    Uncheck All

    Deselects all hard drives.

  4. Select member drives by referring to Table 5-32.

    Save the settings.

  5. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Apply Changes and press Enter.

    A confirmation screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-92.

  6. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Confirm and press Enter.

    The drive status changes to [X].

  7. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Yes and press Enter.

    The message "Operation completed successfully" is displayed.

  8. Select OK and press Enter.

    The configuration is complete.

Managing Foreign Configuration

This screen allows you to manage foreign configuration.

Screen Description

Figure 5-93 shows the Manage Foreign Configuration screen.

Import foreign configuration.

  1. Select the target foreign configuration.
  2. Select View Foreign Configuration and press Enter.
  3. Select Import Foreign Configuration and press Enter.
  4. Select Confirm and then Yes.

Deleting Foreign Configuration

  1. Select the target foreign configuration.
  2. Select View Foreign Configuration and press Enter.
  3. Select Clear Foreign Configuration and press Enter.
  4. Select Confirm and then Yes.

Clear Configuration

This screen allows you to delete all existing RAID configuration.

Deleting a RAID Array

  1. On the Controller Management screen, use ↑ and ↓ to select Clear Configuration and press Enter.

    A confirmation screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-94.

  2. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Confirm and press Enter.

    The drive status changes to [X].

  3. Use ↑ and ↓ to select Yes and press Enter.

    The message "Operation completed successfully" is displayed.

  4. Select OK and press Enter.

    The configuration is complete.

Save Controller Events

This screen allows you to save controller event logs.

Screen Description

Figure 5-95 shows the Save Controller Events screen. Table 5-33 describes the parameters on the screen.

Saving Event Logs

  1. Set the file system, file directory, and file name by referring to Table 5-33.

    The message "Operation completed successfully" is displayed.

  3. Press Enter.

    The configuration is complete.
