Removing the CX116

Scenarios

This topic describes a recommended process for removing the CX116 from the E9000 chassis. Get familiar with hardware devices before any operation.

To replace a CX116, see section "Replacing a Switch Module" in the E9000 Server V100R001 User Guide.

Prerequisites

Tools

The following tools must be obtained for removing the CX116:

  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves
  • ESD bag
  • Phillips screwdriver (PH3 is 8 mm or 0.31 in.)

Workflow

Procedure

  1. Removerd the CX116 network cables.
  2. Determine the slot of the CX116 to be removed.

  3. Remove the CX116.

    1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two M3 captive screws on the CX116. See step (1) in Figure 3-9.

    2. Raise the two ejector levers on the CX116 completely. See steps (2) in Figure 3-9.
    3. Pull the CX116 out of the chassis horizontally. See steps and (3) in Figure 3-9.
    4. Lower the ejector levers on the CX116 completely. See step (4) in Figure 3-9.
      NOTICE:

      An ESD bag can hold only one CX116.

    5. Place the removed CX116 in an ESD bag.

  4. Install a filler panel.

    1. Raise the two ejector levers of the filler panel completely. See step (1) in Figure 3-10.

    2. Insert a filler panel into the chassis horizontally. See step (2) in Figure 3-10.
    3. Lower the two ejector levers of the filler panel completely. See step (3) in Figure 3-10.
    4. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the two M3 captive screws on the filler panel. See step (4) in Figure 3-10.
