Scenarios

This task provides guidance for software commissioning engineers to perform the following operations:

Reset an abnormal port on the CX116 by using the management module. For example, reset the port that is displayed as disconnected in the query command output though already connected.

Procedure

  1. Use the PuTTY to log in to the active MM910.

    For details, seeLogging In to a Server Over a Network Port by Using PuTTY .

  2. Reset an abnormal port by running the following command:

    smmset -l swiN -t port_Y -d phyresetport -v l

    N indicates the slot number of a CX116, in the range of 1 to 4.

    Y indicates a logical port number, in the range of 0 to 31. For details about port naming rules, see 2.3 .

    For example, if the slot number of a CX116 is 1 and the logical port number is 5, run the following command:

    smmset -l swi1 -t port_5 -d phyresetport -v l

    If port 5 of the CX116 in slot 1E is reset, the command output is as follows:

    Success

NOTE:

When a port is reset, the firmware requires 6 seconds to load. The recommended interval between resetting a port is 10 seconds.
