Configuration Procedure

Description

Configure the password for login over a serial port.

You need to set the login password when logging in to the 10GE switching plane of the CX910 over a serial port for the first time. This password is used only for login over a serial port.

Configure the IP addresses of management network ports.

Configure the IP addresses of the management network ports for the 10GE switching plane of the CX910.

Log in to the command-line interface (CLI) of each switching plane.

Log in to the CLI of each switching plane for the CX910 over Secure Shell (SSH), serial over LAN (SOL), or a serial port. You can select a login method as required.

Check the switching plane.

  • Check whether the versions of the 10GE switching plane of the CX910 are the required ones.
  • Check the mappings between the 10GE switching plane of the CX910 and compute nodes, storage nodes, and management modules.

Change initial user passwords.

Change the initial user passwords after the first login to the CX910 to ensure the security of system operating and maintenance.

This topic describes how to change the initial user passwords of the BMC, 10GE switching plane, and Bootrom.

Add users.

Add users to the 10GE switching plane of the CX910. Then the new users can log in to the command-line interface (CLI) of the corresponding switch plane to carry out routine maintenance.

Configure switching service data.

Describe the switching service data supported by the 10GE switching plane in the CX910.

Back up configuration files.

Back up the configuration files of the 10GE switching plane of the CX910. If configuration errors occur or the CX910 is damaged, you can use the backup configuration files to restore configuration data.
