Changing the Initial User Passwords

Changing the Initial User Passwords

This topic describes how to change initial CX913 user passwords.

Scenarios

Change the initial passwords of the baseboard management controller (BMC), 10GE switching plane, and Bootrom upon the first login to the CX913. This improves system operation and maintenance (O&M) security.

NOTE:
  • Ensure that the password complexity check is enabled. The password complexity check is enabled by default.
  • For security purposes, change the initial password upon the first login, and then change the password regularly.

The Bootrom initializes hardware, such as serial ports or dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs), reads the kernel image from the flash memory to the random access memory (RAM), and starts the operating system (OS).

Prerequisites

Conditions

  • You have logged in to the CLI of the 10GE switching plane.
  • You have logged in to the CLI of the BMC.
