Installing PSUs

Installing PSUs

The procedure for installing a DC PSU is the same as that for installing an AC PSU. For details about PSU configuration policies, see PSU Configuration Policies.

During operations, wear protective gloves to prevent personal injury.

Procedure

  1. Determine the slots for installing the PSUs.

    A maximum of six PSUs can be installed in an E9000 chassis. Figure 3-20 shows PSU slot numbers.

  2. Install PSUs.

    1. Unpack the PSU packing box.
    2. Take the PSU out of its ESD bag.
    3. Horizontally insert the PSU into the chassis until the PSU snaps into the chassis.
      Install the PSUs according to the following guidelines:
      • For the PSUs on the left side in the rear view of the chassis, install them with the latches on the upper side.
      • For the PSUs on the right side in the rear view of the chassis, install them with the latches on the lower side.

    4. Repeat 1 to 3 to install other PSUs.
