Fan Modules

This section describes the slot numbers and features of fan modules in the E9000.

Function

The E9000 provides 14 fan modules, which are divided into three zones, with each fan module containing two fan units. Each zone supports N+1 redundancy, ensuring heat dissipation is not affected if a fan unit or module fails. The E9000 chassis uses forced air cooling technology and front-to-rear ventilation channels. This ensures that the air enters the chassis from the front and exits from the rear. The fan modules automatically adjust the fan speed based on the operating temperature of compute nodes in the chassis or the management module adjusts the fan speed.

Color

Status and Meaning

Green

  • Blinking (at 0.5 Hz): The fan module is properly communicating with the MM910.
  • Blinking (at 4 Hz): The fan module is abnormally communicating with the MM910.

Red

Blinking (at 0.5 Hz): An alarm is generated for the fan module.

Off

Off: No power is supplied.
