Configuring Compute Nodes

Configuring Compute Nodes

After installing the compute nodes, configure them to support upper-layer services.

Configuration Process

  1. Check the compute nodes.

    • Query the compute node versions and verify that the versions are the required ones.
    • Check for alarms about the compute nodes.

  2. Change the default password for a BMC user.
  3. Configure the BMC IP address.
  4. Change the BMC U-Boot password.
  5. Log in to the real-time desktop.

Log in to the MM910 WebUI, and then log in to the real-time desktop of the compute node in remote control mode.

  6. Configure the RAID controller cards.

The compute nodes support the LSI SAS2308 and LSI SAS2208 RAID controller cards.

  7. Set the BIOS.

Configure the compute node BIOS, including the boot mode, Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) options of the network interface card (NIC), and BIOS password.

  8. Install the OS.

For details about how to configure a compute node, see the compute node user guide on the Support > Intelligent Servers.
