Changing the Initial Password of the Default User


For security purposes, change the initial password of the default user root on the WebUI of the active MM910.

  • Ensure that the password complexity check is enabled. The password complexity check is enabled by default.
  • For security purposes, change the initial password upon the first login, and then change the password regularly.
  • The root user password can be changed only by the root user.





Default user name and password

The default user name is root, and the default password is Huawei12#$.


  1. Log in to the WebUI of the active MM910.

    For details, see Logging In to the MM910 WebUI.

  2. Choose System Management > Account Management > MM Users.

    The MM Users page is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-10.

  3. Locate the row that contains the user root, and click .

    The Modify User page is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-11.

  4. Enter the current password in Current user password.

    If an incorrect password is entered in Current user password for a specified number of times, the current user will be logged out.

  5. Select Modify Password.

    A message is displayed asking you whether to change the password.

  6. Click OK.
  7. Enter the new password in New password and Confirm password, and click OK.

    The MM910 user password must meet the following complexity requirements:

    • Contain 8 to 20 characters.
    • Contain at least one space or one of the following special characters:


    • Contain at least two types of the following characters:
      • Uppercase letters A to Z
      • Lowercase letters a to z
      • Digits 0 to 9
    • Cannot be the same as the user name or the user name in reverse order.
