Table 2-4 describes the ports on the MM910.

COM serial port

A serial port that complies with the RS232. The baud rate is 115,200 bit/s.

This port is used for system commissioning and local or remote management.

MGMT port

A standard GE port that supports 10/100/1000M Base-T auto-negotiation. The cable type is UTP5.

This port is used for central management of the devices in an E9000 chassis.

STACK port

RJ45

A standard GE port that supports 10/100/1000M Base-T auto-negotiation. The cable type is UTP5.

This port is used to cascade multiple E9000 chassis. Cascade the E9000 chassis as follows:

  • Connect the STACK ports on the two MM910s in the first chassis to the two MGMT ports on the two MM910s in the second chassis.
  • Connect the STACK ports on the two MM910s in the second chassis to the two MGMT ports on the two MM910s in the third chassis.
  • Cascade the other chassis in the same way.
NOTE:
  • The STACK port of an MM910 in chassis 1 can be connected to the MGMT port of either MM910 in chassis 2.
  • There is no limit on the number of cascaded chassis, but the MM910 supports management of a maximum of four cascaded chassis.
  • If the MM910 version is V 5.19 or later, log in to the MM910 CLI and run the smmset -d stackstate -v enable command to enable the STACK network port when chassis need to be cascaded.

A standard video graphics array (VGA) port, which is used to connect the KVM monitor to display the desktop of a compute node.
