Installing an MM910


Install an MM910 in an E9000 chassis.

Impact on the System

This operation has no adverse impact on the system.



The chassis has been installed.


  • ESD gloves
  • Phillips screwdriver (PH3 is 8 mm or 0.31 in.)


Figure 3-1 shows the process for installing an MM910.

  1. Determine the installation position of the MM910.

    Figure 3-2 shows the slots for installing the MM910s.

  2. Remove the filler panel.

    1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the M3 captive screw on the MM910 filler panel. See (1) in Figure 3-3.

    2. Pull out the filler panel from the chassis slot horizontally. See (2) in Figure 3-3.
    3. Store the removed filler panel properly for future use.

  3. Install the MM910.

    1. Raise the MM910 ejector lever. See (1) in Figure 3-4.

    2. Insert the MM910 horizontally into the chassis. See (2) in Figure 3-4.
    3. Lower the MM910 ejector lever. See (3) in Figure 3-4.
    4. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the M3 captive screw on the MM910. See (4) in Figure 3-4.

  4. Check the status of the indicators on the MM910 after the MM910 is powered on.

    If the power (PWR) indicator and health (HLY) indicator are both steady green, the MM910 is powered on and all components in the chassis are operating properly.

  5. Connect a network cable to the network port of the MM910 based on the network plan.
