The KVM Screen of a Compute Node Closes Unexpectedly

The KVM Screen of a Compute Node Closes Unexpectedly

Symptom

The KVM screen of a compute node closes immediately after it is opened.

NOTE:

Collect log information (see Information Collection) and view the error logs in the log file. The log file is kvmserver.log for (U54) 5.57 or later, or smmlog.txt for versions earlier than (U54) 5.57.

Possible Causes

The KVM port of the compute node has been changed on iMana 200 or iBMC.

Solution

  1. Check the KVM port on the iMana 200 or iBMC WebUI.
  2. If the KVM port has been changed, restore the default KVM port number on iMana 200 or iBMC.

For example, to restore the default KVM port number on the iBMC WebUI, do as follows:

    1. Log in to the iBMC WebUI.
    2. Choose Configure > Service Settings.
    3. Set the KVM port status to ON and port number to 2198.
    4. Save the settings.
  3. Restart the browser.
