The Alarm Settings page allows you to configure whether to enable the chassis component removal alarms (for removal of a compute node, switch or pass-through module, management module, PSU, or fan module), management module heartbeat loss alarm, and management module switchover alarm. Table 7-77 describes the parameters.

Insertion/Removal Alarm Settings

  • ON: An alarm is generated when a component is removed but not when a component is inserted.
  • OFF: No alarm is generated when a component is removed.

MM HA Alarm Settings

  • Heartbeat lost (minor alarm)
    • ON: An alarm is generated when heartbeats between the active and standby management modules are lost.
    • OFF: No alarm is generated when heartbeats between the active and standby management modules are lost.
  • MM switchover (information event)
    • ON: When an active/standby switchover occurs, an SNMP trap is sent. An email is also sent if SMTP is enabled with Alarm Severity set to All.
    • OFF: When an active/standby switchover occurs, no SNMP trap or email is sent.
