easyLink Overview

easyLink Overview

This section describes the background and definition of the easyLink feature.

Background

As data centers continue to develop on a larger scale, with higher network convergence and more complex networking, data center networks need to be flattened. The E9000 server, a server based on a highly converged architecture, contains compute nodes (blades) and switch modules in a chassis. Service configuration involves the connection between switch modules, between switch modules and compute node NICs, and between switch modules and external switches.

Huawei has developed the E9000 easyLink feature to reduce networking complexity. easyLink allows compute nodes in a chassis to serve as a collection of virtual servers and allows switch modules to serve as NICs. This feature simplifies networking between the switch modules and external switches, implementing a flat network. Users only need to configure the services associated with the compute node NICs instead of the physical connections between compute nodes and switch modules. This greatly simplifies intra-chassis network management and configuration.

Definition

easyLink is a simplified GUI-based switching configuration method.
