Alarm message:

Insufficient power supply to the chassis

This alarm is generated when the real-time power consumption of the entire chassis is greater than the sum of PSU power ratings.

This alarm is generated by the following sensor:

Impact on the System

Power supply to the entire chassis is insufficient. As a result, compute nodes do not work properly, which affects service running.

Possible Causes

Power supply to the entire chassis is insufficient.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the CPLD version of the management module version information is earlier than 105.

    • If yes, go to 2.
    • If no, go to 3.

  2. Upgrade the CPLD version to 105 or later for the active and standby management modules. For details, see the upgrade guide. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 3.

  3. Check whether any PSU alarm exists.

    • If yes, go to 4.
    • If no, go to 5.

  4. Handle the PSU alarm by referring to the alarm handling suggestion. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 5.

  5. Check whether the PSUs meet the power consumption requirements of the entire chassis.

    • If yes, go to 6.
    • If no, go to 7.

  6. If the PSUs are not fully configured, install more PSUs. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 7.

  7. On the HMM WebUI, choose System Management > Information Collection, and collect logs.
