Possible Causes

  • The switch module is abnormal.
  • The associated compute nodes are abnormal.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the MM910 WebUI.
  2. In the navigation tree, choose Stateless Computing > easyLink Configuration > Switch Configuration.
  3. Click View of a profile with an abnormal delivery status to view status information.

    • If the status is The SOL channel of the Ethernet switch module is in use or The SOL channel of the FC switch module is in use, go to 4.
    • If the status is The user name or password of the Ethernet switch module is incorrect or The user name or password of the FC switch module is incorrect, go to 5.
    • If the status is The command for configuring the Ethernet switch module failed to be executed or The command for configuring the FC switch module failed to be executed, go to 6.
    • If the status is The new password of the Ethernet switch module cannot be the same as a previous password or The new password of the FC switch module cannot be the same as a previous password, go to 7.
    • If the status is BMC of the Ethernet switch module is abnormal or BMC of the FC switch module is abnormal, go to 8.
    • If the status is The Ethernet switch module type does not match or The FC switch module type does not match, go to 9.
    • If the error status is The switch profile cannot be delivered to the Ethernet switch modules in the current state or The switch profile cannot be delivered to the FC switch modules in the current state, go to 10.
    • If the status is Configuring the Ethernet switch module timed out or Configuring the FC switch module timed out, go to 11.
    • If the error status is The Ethernet switch module software version mismatch, go to 12.
    • If the error status is Ethernet switch module is abnormal, go to 13.
    • If the error status is The I2C channel of the FC switch module is in use, go to 14.
    • If the error status is Only one user is allowed to access the management configuration view of the FC switch module at a time, go to 15.
    • If the error status is The FC switch module is not powered on, go to 16.
    • If the error status is Failed to log in to the FC switch module, go to 17.
    • If the error status is Compute node type mismatch, go to 18.
    • If the error status is Abnormal BMC, go to 19.
    • If the error status is Mismatched NIC (type, quantity, and slot), go to 20.

  4. Log in to the command line interface (CLI) of the MM910, and release the SOL channel.

    1. Run telnet 0 1101.
    2. Enter the user name and password as instructed.
    3. Select the switch module based on the error state.
      • If the error state is "The SOL channel of the Ethernet switch module is in use", select fabriccom.
      • If the error state is "The SOL channel of the FC switch module is in use", select FCCom.
    4. If the following information is displayed, type Y.

    5. Press Ctrl+R to quit.

    After the SOL is released, deliver the configuration online and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  1. Perform one of the following based on the delivery mode:

    • If the alarm is reported during offline delivery, perform offline delivery again. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.
    • If the alarm is reported during online delivery, perform online delivery again and enter the serial port password of the switch module. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    For details about offline and online delivery, see the MM910 user guide.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  2. Perform offline delivery again. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  3. Reset the password for the switch module.

    1. Log in to the MM910 WebUI.
    2. Choose Stateless Computing > easyLink Configuration > Switch Configuration.
    3. Locate the profile, and select the edit icon under the Operation column.
    4. Locate the switch module slot number, and click the edit icon, as shown in Figure 2-3.

    5. In the Change COM Password dialog box, set the new password and click OK.
    Deliver the configuration, and check whether the alarm is cleared.
    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  1. Restart the switch module iBMC. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    To restart the iBMC of the switch module, perform the following steps:

    1. Switch to the CLI of the MM910.
    2. Run telnet 1 1101.
    3. Select the iBMC of the target switch module, and enter the user name and password.
    4. On the iBMC of the switch module, run ipmcset -d reset.
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, go to 21.

  2. On the MM910 WebUI, choose Stateless Computing > easyLink Configuration > Switch Configuration, and check whether the type of the switch module configured with the profile is the same as the type of the switch module in use.

    • If no, replace the switch module in the slot or remove the bonding between the profile and the slot. Deliver the configuration again, and check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, go to 21.
    • If yes, go to 21.

  3. Attempt to log in to the switch module CLI.

    • If the login succeeds, deliver the profile again. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, go to 21.
    • If the login fails, go to 21.

  4. Perform one of the following based on the profile delivery mode:

    • If the alarm is reported during online delivery, perform offline delivery. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If yes, no further action is required.
      • If no, go to 21.
    • If the alarm is reported during offline delivery, go to 21.

  5. Upgrade the switch modules to 2.14 or a later version. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    For details about how to upgrade the switch modules, see the upgrade guide of the server.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  6. Restart the switch module. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    On the MM910 WebUI, choose PSUs&Fans > PSU Management > Power Control, and restart the switch module.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  7. Restart the switch module iBMC. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  8. Check the login information of the switch module and log out all users. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  9. Power on or restart the switch module. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  10. On the switch module CLI, check and modify the configuration and login information of the FC switch module so that users can log in to the FC switch module. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  11. Check that the compute node type in the profile is consistent with the installed compute nodes. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  12. Restart the compute node iBMC. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  13. Ensure that the NIC configuration (type, slot number, and quantity) of the compute node meets requirements. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 21.

  14. Log in to the SOL screen and access the fabric plane of the switch module where delivery has failed. Press Enter and check whether Password: is displayed.

    • If yes, enter the password and go to 22.
    • If no, repeatedly press "q" and then Enter until you are logged out. Then perform the delivery again. If you fail to log out, go to 23.

  15. Run the display config-synccommand and check whether configuration has no relationship with SMM is displayed.

    • If yes, run the undo config-sync disable command and perform an offline delivery.
    • If no, go to 23.

  16. On the HMM WebUI, choose System Management > Information Collection, and collect logs.
