The board ID cannot be obtained or is incorrect. 

This alarm is generated when the system failed to obtain the board ID or the obtained board ID is incorrect.

This alarm is generated by the following sensor:

Impact on the System

  • If the functions related with the board ID are abnormal, the communication between the board and the management module may be interrupted.
  • The management module cannot manage the server.
  • The components connected to the board cannot work properly.

Possible Causes

  • The chassis backplane is faulty.
  • The board is not properly installed.
  • The board is faulty.


  1. Restart the iBMC of the switch module. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 2.

    You can restart the iBMC using either of the following method:

    On the HMM CLI, run the telnet 0 1101 command, switch to the iBMC CLI, and run the ipmcset -d reset command.

  2. Back up the services of the switch module.
  3. Reseat the switch module and then check whether the alarm is cleared..

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 4.

  4. Replace the switch module. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to 5.

  5. On the HMM WebUI, choose System Management > Information Collection, and collect logs.
  6. Contact Huawei technical support.
