Parameters

Name

Meaning

stackID

Indicates the stack ID of the device where the stack interface locates.

portID

Indicates the ID of a stack interface.

status

Indicates the status of the stack interface.

  • 1: The stack interface is Up.
  • 2: The stack interface is Down.
Impact on the System

A stack can be created successfully.

Possible Causes

The status of the link protocol became Up after a stack was established.

Procedure
  1. This trap message is informational only, and no action is required.

Parameters

Name

Meaning

stackID

Indicates the stack ID of the device where the stack interface locates.

portID

Indicates the ID of a stack interface.

status

Indicates the status of the stack interface.

  • 1: The stack interface is Up.
  • 2: The stack interface is Down.
Impact on the System

A stack fails to be created or splits.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The stack interface was shut down.

Cause 2: All physical interfaces became Down.

Cause 3: The stack link was faulty.

Procedure
  1. Check the connection and validity of stack cables. Run the display interface brief command to check the physical status and protocol status of the stack interface.
  • If the physical status of an interface is Down, check whether the cable connected to the interface is loosened or removed.
  • If the physical status of the interface is Up, go to step 2.
  1. Check whether the shutdown command was executed on the interface. Run the interface interface-type interface-number command to enter the stack interface view, and run the display this command to check whether the shutdown configuration exists.

    • If so, run the undo shutdown command.
    • If not, go to step 3.

  2. Collect traps, logs, and configurations, and contact Huawei technical support engineers.

Parameters

Name

Meaning

hwStackLocalIfName

Indicates the name of the local interface.

hwStackPeerIfName

Indicates the name of the peer interface.

Reason

Indicates a possible cause.

Impact on the System

The stack cannot be created. Stack members were removed, and the stack broke.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: Cable connection of physical interfaces caused a loop.

Cause 2: Physical member interfaces of a local stack interface connected to those of two stack interfaces on the remote device.

Cause 3: Physical member interfaces of a local stack interface connected to those of stack interfaces on different remote devices.

Procedure
  1. Run the interface stack-port member-id/port-id command to enter the stack interface view, and run the display this command to check whether physical interfaces of the same stack interface are connected.
  • If so, disconnect the interfaces.
  • If not, go to step 2.
  1. Run the interface stack-port member-id/port-id command to enter the stack interface view, and run the display this command to check whether physical interfaces of the stack interface are connected to a different device.

    • If so, run the display interface brief command to check the protocol status of these interfaces. Remove the cables that connect the interfaces whose physical status is Up but protocol status is Down.
    • If not, go to step 3.

  2. Run the interface stack-port member-id/port-id command to enter the stack interface view, and run the display this command to check whether any physical interface of the same stack interface is connected to another stack interface on the same device.

    • If so, run the display stack topology command to check the stack ID of the device that the stack interface is connected to. Remove the cables that connect the interfaces to another device.
    • If not, go to step 4.

  3. Collect traps, logs, and configurations, and contact Huawei technical support engineers.
