Installing a TPM

Installing a TPM

You need to install a new Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to replace the original one.


Install a TPM in any of the following scenarios:

  • A faulty TPM needs to be replaced.
  • A TPM needs to be replaced with another model.

Figure 5-60 shows the TPM installation position on the CH222.

Data preparation is not required for this operation.


  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves.
  • M3 phillips screwdriver.
  • Packing materials, for example, ESD bag.


Spare TPM.


  1. (Optional) Remove the PCIe card tray. For details, see Removing a PCIe Card.
  2. Take the spare TPM out of its ESD bag.
  3. Press the TPM vertically downwards until it seats into the connector on the mainboard. See step (1) in Figure 5-61.

  4. Use the Phillips screwdriver to secure the screws to secure TPM. See step (2) in Figure 5-61.
