Configure the FCoE gateway work mode.

FCoE gateway supports two work modes: Full Fabric (default) and Transparent. Table 4-12 describes the mapping between the FCoE gateway work modes and the devices to be connected.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the FCoE gateway CLI.
  2. Enter the configuration mode.

    FCoE_GW: admin> admin start 
    FCoE_GW (admin): admin> config edit

  3. Configure the work mode.

    FCoE_GW (admin-config): admin>set config switch 
     A list of attributes with formatting and current values will follow. 
      Enter a new value or simply press the ENTER key to accept the current value. 
      If you wish to terminate this process before reaching the end of the list 
      press 'q' or 'Q' and the ENTER key to do so. 
     
      TransparentMode       (True / False)                         [False         ]  
      true        //Type true or false, and press Enter. 
      AdminState            (1=Online, 2=Offline, 3=Diagnostics) [Online        ] 
        //Press Enter. 
     
      SymbolicName        (string, max=32 chars)                 [FCoE_GW       ] 
        //Press Enter. 
     
      ConfigDescription     (string, max=64 chars)                 [Default Config] 
        //Press Enter. 
     
      Finished configuring attributes. 
      This configuration must be saved (see config save command) and 
      activated (see config activate command) before it can take effect. 
      To discard this configuration use the config cancel command. 
     
    FCoE_GW (admin-config): admin>
    • If the value of TransparentMode is true, the work mode is Transparent.
    • If the value of TransparentMode is false, the work mode is Full Fabric.

  4. Save the configuration.

    FCoE_GW (admin-config): admin> config save 
     
      The config named default has been saved. 
     
    FCoE_GW (admin): admin> 

  5. Activate the configuration.

    NOTICE:

    After the FCoE gateway work mode is changed and activated, the factory configurations of the new work mode take effect and certain configurations (such as VLAN configuration) of the original work mode are lost.

    After the configuration is activated, the FCoE gateway restarts.

    FCoE_GW (admin): admin> config activate
       
      The currently active configuration will be activated.
      Please confirm (y/n): [n] y
    
    FCoE_GW (admin): admin>
