Adding a User


Add a user for the CX311 FCoE gateway. The new user can log in to the FCoE gateway CLI to carry out routine maintenance.

The validity period of the users newly added on the CX311 FCoE gateway is from 0 days to 2000 days. 0 indicates that the users are valid permanently. The local users are classified as follows:

  • Administrators: have permissions to query and set information.
  • Non-administrators: have permissions to query information.

  1. Log in to the FCoE gateway CLI.
  2. On the FCoE gateway CLI, run the following command to go to the screen for adding a user:

    FCoE_GW: admin> user add

  3. Create a user (for example, user1) with administrator rights and a validity period of 100 days.

    The password must contain 8 to 20 characters.

          Press 'q' and the ENTER key to abort this command. 
      account name (1-15 chars)      : user1 
      account password (8-20 chars)  : ********** 
      please confirm account password: ********** 
      set account expiration in days (0-2000, 0=never): [0] 100 
      should this account have admin authority? (y/n): [n] y 
      OK to add user account 'user1' with admin authority 
      and to expire in 100 days? 
      Please confirm (y/n): [n] y

    Confirm the user information, and enter Y.

  4. Query information about all users and check that the new user is successfully created.

    FCoE_GW: admin> user accounts

    The command output is as follows:

      Current list of user accounts 
      admin        (admin authority = True , never expires) 
      user1        (admin authority = True , expires in < 100 days)

  5. Save configuration data of the FCoE gateway to the configuration file.

    FCoE_GW: admin> config backup
