Changing Initial User Passwords

Changing Initial User Passwords

Change all the initial user passwords in the CX311, including the initial user passwords of the BMC, converged switching plane, and BIOS, to enhance system operation and maintenance (O&M) security.

NOTE:
  • The password complexity check is enabled by default.
  • Use passwords that meet complexity requirements.
  • For security purposes, change the initial password upon the first login, and then change the password periodically.

The BIOS initializes hardware, such as serial ports or dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs), reads the kernel image from the flash memory to the random access memory (RAM), and starts the operating system (OS).

Prerequisites

Conditions

  • You have logged in to the converged switching plane CLI.
  • You have logged in to the BMC CLI.
