Application in Enterprise Campuses
On a large-sized enterprise campus network, each station must have a network port, and the office area must be fully covered with wireless signals. The campus has multiple buildings, a large number of labs, warehouses, and independent offices. Employees work in different places. Offices in each building are scattered. If a switch is deployed on each floor, the network cable length may be insufficient. Therefore, two ELV rooms need to be planned, resulting in high costs. If switches are directly deployed in offices, the noise is loud, which severely affects the work of employees. Figure 1 shows the application of the simplified architecture in an enterprise campus.
Deployment mode:
- One desktop RU is deployed on each workspace to provide wired access for office computers. In addition, the RU connects to wireless APs and security cameras through PoE.
- One or more central switches are deployed in each office building and directly connected to offices and labs through optical fibers.
- Central switches are dual-homed to the core switch through optical fibers.
- The power backup system is deployed in both the building equipment room and central equipment room to improve the reliability of the entire network.
- iMaster NCE-Campus and iMaster NCE-CampusInsight are deployed. Network devices work in NETCONF mode and are managed by iMaster NCE-Campus.
