Replacing a Temperature Sensor


  • You have obtained an ESD wrist strap, a pair of ESD gloves, an ESD box or bag, the cabinet door key, and a maintenance tool kit.

  • The new temperature sensor is intact.


  1. Connect the ground cable to the ESD wrist strap, and put on the ESD wrist strap and ESD gloves.
  2. Remove the temperature sensor cable from the UIM, as shown in Figure 4-31.

  3. Cut off the cable tie of the sensor in the equipment compartment and remove it.

  4. Properly place the new temperature sensor in the equipment compartment and bind it securely with a cable tie.
  5. Reconnect the temperature sensor cable to the UIM.
  6. Disconnect the ground cable from the ESD wrist strap, and take off the ESD wrist strap and ESD gloves.
