This document describes the CX910 10GE switch module (CX910 for short) of the Tecal E9000 server in terms of its features, installation, removal, and configuration. This document applies to the CX910 whose 10GE switching planes use the software versions of, 2.00 and later.

By observing the indicators, you can determine the current operating status of the CX910.

Table 2-5 Indicators






Stacking status indicator


  • Off: The CX910 is not powered on.
  • Blinking green for only 10 times: The CX910 is being powered on.
  • Blinking green: The CX910 is in standby or slave state in a stack and is operating properly.
  • Steady green: The CX910 is in the active state in a stack or is not stacked, and is operating properly.


Health indicator

Red and green

  • Off: The CX910 is not powered on.
  • Steady green: The CX910 is operating properly or has minor alarms.
  • Blinking red (1 Hz): A major alarm is generated.
  • Blinking red (4 Hz): A critical alarm is generated.
  • Blinking red (5 Hz): The CX910 is not securely installed.

It is difficult to identify the difference between blinking frequencies of 4 Hz and 5 Hz. If the indicator is blinking red quickly, check whether the device has been installed properly and then check whether a critical alarm has been generated.

Connection status indicator for the 10GE optical port


  • Off: The port is not properly connected.
  • Steady green: The port is properly connected.


Data transmission status indicator for the 10GE optical port


  • Off: No data is being transmitted over the port.
  • Blinking orange: Data is being sent or received over the port.
