Preparing for the Configuration

Preparing for the Configuration

This topic describes preparations for configuring and connecting the MX210 to the fabric network and storage array.

Before configuring and connecting the MX210 to the fabric network and storage array, perform the following tasks:

  • Make sure that the CX912 has been installed and powered on.
  • Access the SFTP server and back up MX210 configuration information.
  • If the DHCP mode is not used, obtain an available IP address as well as the related subnet mask and gateway address first.
  • If no MM910 or CLI can be used to change the MX210 IP address, prepare a computer as a management workstation. Make sure that the workstation supports virtual terminals (such as HyperTerminal) or KVM devices. Use a serial cable to connect the workstation to the SYS serial port of the CX912.
