This document describes the CX912 multi-plane switch module (CX912 for short) of the Tecal E9000 server in terms of its features, installation, removal, and configuration. This document applies to the CX912 whose 10GE switching planes use the software versions of 1.2.1.0.39, 2.00 and later.

Logging In to the Switching Plane

You can log in to the MX210 in any of the following ways:

By default, the administrator name for the MX210 is admin, and the password is Huawei12#$.

Logging In to the MX210 over a Serial Port

Log in to the MX210 over a serial port.

Procedure
  1. Connect a terminal to the BMC serial port on the front panel of the CX912 by using a DB9-RJ45 cable. If the terminal has been connected to the BMC serial port, skip this step.
  2. Log in to the terminal and set the baud rate to 115200.

    If the OS running on the terminal is Windows 95, 98, 2000, or NT or Windows Server 2003 or 2008, perform the following steps:

    1. Choose Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications.
    2. Choose Hyper Terminal and enter a connection name.
    3. Select an available COM serial port from the Connect using drop-down list.
    4. Click OK.
    5. In Port Settings, set the serial port parameters. For details, see Table 4-10.

    6. Click OK.

    If the OS running on the terminal is Linux or UNIX, perform the following steps:

    1. Run the following command:

      tip /dev/tty -115200

  3. On the BMC serial port login CLI, run the ipmcset command.

    The command syntax is as follows:

    ipmcset -d systemcom -v <option>

    The value of <option> ranges from 0 to 2. The value 0 indicates the Base Com, 1 indicates the Fabric Com, and 2 indicates the Thirty Com.

    The value of <option> is 2 for the FC card.

  4. Connect the DB9-RJ45 cable to the SYS serial port on the front panel of the CX912 and set the baud rate to 9600.

    If the information shown in Figure 4-4 is displayed, you can log in to the MX210.

  5. Log in to the MX210 using a management account.
Follow-up Procedure

After logging in to the MX210, you must set the date and time. For details, see Setting Time and Date.

The MX210 supports the Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) function. Based on certain user security policies, the MX210 can prevent unauthorized users from accessing the MX210 or modifying settings. For details about the user permission access mechanism, see the MX210&MX220_Fabric_OS_Administrator_Guide.

Logging In to the MX210 Using SSH

Log in to the MX210 using SSH.

Procedure
  1. Connect a terminal (such as a PC) to the management network port of the MM910 by using a network cable.
  2. Run the SSH terminal tool on the PC and enter the IP address of the MX210.

    For details about how to query the IP address of the MX210, see Configuring an IP Address.

  3. On the login page, enter the user name and press Enter.
  4. Enter the password and press Enter to log in to the MX210 CLI.

Logging In to the MX210 Using Web Tools

Log in to the MX210 using Web tools.

Tool

Java plug-in: Free software. Ensure that its version is JRE 1.6.0_24 or later.

Procedure
  1. Connect a terminal (such as a PC) to the management network port of the MM910 by using a network cable.
  2. In the browser address box of the PC, enter https://IP address of the MX210, and press Enter.

    The login dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-5.

  3. Enter the user name and password and click OK.

    The Web Tools page is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-6.
